I am using Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel Chrome Yellow (DA 1687) on my Ryder LN8000. Now I like the color & how it covers over the white primer, but it isn't terribly shiney. What sort of gloss clear coat have you guys had luck with? I have some Tamiya in a rattle-can, will that work? I've heard about Future, but I don't have an airbrush.

I would try to find one made by Dupli-color if you could help it. Might save you troubles with your finish later.

I'll have to try that. I did pick up some Dupli-Color clear coat for Acrylic Enamel at NAPA yesterday. That seemed to work.

I'd find a Dulpi-Color clear. They are designed and engineered for that BC/CC(Base Coat/Clear Coat) system. If you use another product, it may react with the Base Coat and cause the Base Coat to "craze". Crazing is when the Base Coat gets tiny wrinkles in it. You'll have to sand the Base Coat and re-apply. And if you sanded before applying the primer, and you have to sand again, then you stand the risk of losing some detail on the cab.

When I painted my Autocar last year(the one in my Avatar pic) I painted Dupli Color Black over Testors primer. The paint "cracked" as soon as it dried. I had to strip the whole thing, and I was lucky to have a spare hood for the truck since all my sanding killed the rivets. It's a good thing you went ahead and got Dupli Color Clear Coat. Saves heartache later.
